Garden City Hospital recently earned the IBM Watson Top 100 Hospitals 2019 Award. GCH is the only hospital in Wayne County to receive this awared in 2019 out of over 3,000 candidates. GCH also received the Everest Award, which recognizes an overall improvement over a five-year period. Only 13 hospitals nationally receieved this award.
In 2014, GCH became part of Prime Healthcare, an award-winning health system. As a physician-led organization, Prime is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare for communities. Joining Prime paved the way for changes to better serve the community.
GCH’s focus is on quality, efficiency, cost and growth. This has resulted in numerous awards, including the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award, an ‘A’ grade from the Leapfrog Group, and the Top 100 Hospitals Award.
GCH has improved the ER ‘door to discharge’ time by 75% since 2013. We have also improved cost-effectiveness and are proud to provide high-quality care in a cost-competitive way for our patients. Within the last five years, $15 million has been invested in technology improvements, upgrades and expansions, with an addition $20 million planned to go towards future growth. We’re also expanding our heart program and will be opening an additional cardiac catheterization lab later this year.
These changes and more are part of what has made us a Top 100 Hospital. Another major part? You. Experience the new Prime Garden City Hospital- the same dedication to quality, compassionate care, only better.
