Our 24-hour ER department is trained and staffed to handle rapid diagnosis and care during the early stages of life’s most common, critical emergencies such as a heart attack, stroke, bone, and joint injuries and senior emergencies.
Heart. We bring together some of the area’s best heart doctors, nurses, and clinicians and provide rapid diagnosis and treatment before a cardiac situation worsens. We stand ready to treat your cardiovascular condition with a new level of expertise. On top of our nationally recognized heart programs, we’ve expanded our elective interventional angioplasty program. Interventional angioplasty opens up blocked arteries caused from buildup cholesterol, cells or other substances, and restores normal blood flow to the heart muscle. We can perform this procedure in both elective and emergency situations. We are expanding again and will be opening up another Cath Lab in 2019.
Stroke. Garden City Hospital is among an elite group of hospitals earning accreditation as an HFAP certified Stroke Center and Gold Plus designation by the American Heart and Stroke Association. Our team of ER nurses are annually trained to provide expert stroke care. Our protocols make sure that patients are assessed the minute they arrive.
Orthopedics. Our board-certified orthopedic surgeons, state of the art surgery center and inpatient rehabilitation unit have contributed to the award-winning success of our orthopedics program. We provide treatment for fractures anywhere from knee to hip and have earned a designation as a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Distinction Center+ for knee and hip replacement. We are honored to be the only hospital in the Wayne and Detroit county areas to achieve the 2019 Orthopedic Excellence Award by Healthgrades™ along with other five-star quality awards including hip fracture treatment.
