Introduction
Welcome to the Garden City Hospital Graduate Medical Education Department.
GME is responsible for the administrative oversight and academic quality of all residency, fellowship and undergraduate programs. The DIO and administrative staff work closely with program directors, core faculty, teaching faculty and clinical staff to make sure we provide high quality training and educational program in a safe environment while meeting all ACGME guidelines and requirements and ensuring patient safety. Currently, all six of our programs are ACGME accredited.
Our GME programs have been in place for more than thirty years, graduating a long list of skillful physicians practicing all over the nation.
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine & Garden City Hospital
Our #HospitalPartnerSpotlight series continues with longtime partner Garden City Hospital. This teaching facility offers medical education to #SpartanDO trainees in a wide range of specialties and shares our college’s commitment to community and to extraordinary patient care. Susan Patterson, clerkship program coordinator at Garden City Hospital, explains more about our symbiotic partnership: “Teaching and learning medicine requires observation and practice, and practice through repetition is essential in the medical training of our future doctors. This is very present in our dedicated faculty who are passionate about the learning process and committed to medical education. They are excellent role models to the students and on many occasions, have become lifetime mentors.” We are #DOproud to partner with Garden City Hospital in shaping the physicians of the future.
