About the Program

Cardiology Overview

The Cardiology Fellowship at Garden City Hospital offers an intensive, community-based program emphasizing general clinical, invasive, and noninvasive cardiology. This three-year program uses a highly integrative approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disorders. Bedside teaching, as well as performance, interpretation, and application of all diagnostic modalities, are incorporated into a holistic approach to patient care. There are ample opportunities for elective rotations, both on and off-campus, during the second and third years. Weekly academic sessions follow the American College of Cardiology self-assessment program series. Teaching is active at all levels.

Program Director

Ashok Kondur MD, FACC, FSCAI

Dr. Kondur is a graduate of Osmania Medical College (India). He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine (Michigan), followed by a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology also at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Kondur serves as the Chair and Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Garden City Hospital and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Vascular Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology. The Cardiology Fellowship at Garden City Hospital is a Fully Accredited ACGME Program.
