MRI
MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging, harnesses the power of magnets to allow physicians to view internal structures and diagnose diseases with no incisions, no pain, and no discomfort for the patient. MRI has much greater soft tissue contrast than CT scans, making it especially useful in neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and oncological diagnoses.
At Garden City Hospital, MRI services are available for patients who come to the hospital emergency room for treatment and for patients whose physicians request the scans. If your physician requests an MRI, the office scheduler will usually make the appointment for you. Request to have your CT scan at Garden City Hospital.
Garden City Hospital has same-day MRI appointments for emergent cases, and can schedule any patient within 24 hours. The easy pre-registration process is conducted over the telephone, allowing patients to come directly to the department for their scan.
MRIs may be scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Your physician’s office receives the results, and can request to have them within four hours when needed.
Patients enjoy the convenience of close, surface parking with no parking structures or stairs to navigate. For non-emergent conditions, Garden City Hospital’s pre-registration service means no delays at registration – patients proceed directly to Imaging Services for their MRI.
