The DIO and administrative staff work closely with dedicated program directors, core faculty, teaching faculty and clinical staff to provide a robust educational program and training, in a safe state of the art environment—while complying with all ACGME guidelines to maintain the highest standard of quality care.
“This recognition is an attestation to the diligence of our Hospital’s team, which takes pride in providing a safe healing environment while delivering quality care to our patients. Our unwavering standard of excellence sets a precedent for all who come through our doors, to either deliver or receive distinctive quality and compassionate care while healing,” said Saju George, CEO, Garden City Hospital.
The quality of patient care across many areas of hospital performance is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including infection rates, practices for safer surgery, maternity care, and the hospital’s capacity to prevent medication errors. The rigorous standards are defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology.
More than 2,100 hospitals were considered for the award. A total of 132 Top Hospitals were selected. Garden City Hospital is among only three hospitals in the State of Michigan to receive the Top Teaching Hospital designation.
To qualify for the distinction, hospitals must rank top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety and achieve top performance in their category.
